Honour the memories of missing and murdered Indigenous women — Oct 4

Make this October 4 a movement for social change.

October 4 is a day where we honour the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG). The violence experienced by Indigenous women and girls in Canada is a national tragedy. We must take the time to give thanks to the families who are our reason for demanding continued action.

UFV Senior Advisor on Indigenous Affairs (Shirley.hardman@ufv.ca) and the Race and Antiracism Network (RAN: awneet.sivia@ufv.ca; vandy.britton@ufv.ca; adrienne.chan@ufv.ca ) are sponsoring the Heart Project.  Two hundred hearts will be circulated from various locations on campus.  You can use a heart to write a message to share your thoughts and send a message of remembrance. These will be posted on the Bulletin Board in Building D by the entrance to Building B.

We lift our hands to all those who work to support Social Change.  Ey Si:yam, Hoych’ka Si:yam.  Thank you.
