The Academic Success Centre (ASC) is available to assist students with writing and some subject-area content throughout the summer semester of 2015. Please communicate this in your classes so all students are aware of this free service.
Locations:
– Abbotsford campus G126
– Chilliwack campus A1212 (inside the Library)
Hours:
– Abbotsford: Monday to Friday 9 am – 5 pm.
– Chilliwack: Tuesday (9 – 11 am), Wednesday (11 am – 3 pm), and Thursday (1 – 4 pm)
To book an in-person or an online appointment at either location, students should visit www.ufv.ca/asc and click on “Make an Appointment.” They will then need to register (if it’s their first appointment) or log in, if they are returning. If your students choose the online appointment, they can upload their documents and use the chat function to discuss their work with their tutors.
Students from all academic programs are welcome, including ESL, UUP, Trades, and Nursing. Students can receive help from our staff and tutors in all types of written work and citation styles.
In addition, we have peer tutors who are subject-area specialists in Chemistry, Business, Accounting, Kinesiology, Biology, Psychology (101 and 102), Sociology, Criminology, and English.
The ASC supports the on-going consultative process of the UFV Senate to ensure students receive the academic assistance to support their learning.
