UFV will host an exciting and momentous event on Wednesday, February 4 at 3 pm at the Chilliwack campus at Canada Education Park
Dr. Gwen Point will be formally installed as the second Chancellor of our university, succeeding Dr. Brian Minter.
The Chancellor is the ceremonial head of the university, presiding over convocation and conferring UFV credentials. As a representative of the public interest at the university, the Chancellor also acts as an ambassador for UFV and is called upon to represent the institution at major events.
Employees and students in Building A at CEP will notice increased activity in the atrium on Tuesday, February 3, the day before the event, and on Wednesday, the day of the installation ceremony.
Dignitaries will assemble in the Gathering Place and will be accompanied by aboriginal drummers as they march in a formal procession through the hallway to the atrium. The group will join approximately 250 seated guests for a ceremony lasting approximately 1.5 hours.
Overflow seating will be on the second level, and in classroom A2201. A reception will follow in the area in front of Tim Hortons.
