Dr. Gwen Point’s warmth shone through as she was installed as Chancellor of the University of the Fraser Valley at a ceremony at its Chilliwack campus at Canada Education Park on February 4, 2015. The installation ceremony was attended by more than 400 dignitaries and special guests, including the Honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia. Also, Advanced Education minister Andrew Wilkinson and local Fraser Valley MLAs Laurie Throness, Darryl Plecas, and Simon Gibson toured the Abbotsford campus on Fri, Jan 30. They were joined by UFV president Mark Evered, UFV board chair Barry Delaney and members of the UFV executive team. They also encountered some students along the way (including members of the Cascade men’s basketball team), and had a meeting with members of the Student Union Society.
