Are you interested in improving accessibility at UFV? Our school’s new Accessibility advisory committee could use your help. This cross-university committee will meet twice per semester to look at ways UFV can improve accessibility for students, staff, and faculty. Each meeting will begin with some professional development to better inform our members about the challenges faced by many people with disabilities. With that information we will make recommendations for adjustments to improve accessibility. While UFV has done much good work in this area in the past, more can be done – and you can help. We are looking for a member from each area of the school. If you are interested, please confirm with your dean or director, then forward your name on to ruby.ord@ufv.ca. Our meetings this school year are:
- Oct 7, 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm
- Dec 2, 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm
- Feb 17, 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm
- May 5, 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm
We use video conference for our meetings to include those from other campuses.
