UFV Cascades basketball teams took three of four games over the weekend against the UBC Thunderbirds. The men won both of their games by scores of 69-62 and 71-63, while the women dropped the first game 56-54 then roared back on Saturday to a 71-43 victory.
The Cascade volleyball teams dropped all four games in Nanaimo to the Victoria Island University Mariners, handing the women their first two losses of the season and knocking them back to 12-2 on the year. The men fall to 5-9, but did manage to win the only two Cascades sets of the weekend.
The Cascades will resume competition in January after the break.
