Building Renewal Project advances with move to Building K
The next stage in UFV’s Building Renewal Project on the Abbotsford campus launches with several classrooms moving from Building A into Building K on Monday, Nov. 4.
A total of 10 classrooms, two drop-in student labs, and one meeting room are shifting into the renovated and renewed Building K (former Finnegan’s restaurant), bringing students, staff, and faculty from multiple departments into new spaces.
Those affected by the move have been contacted, and will be greeted and directed to their new classrooms when they arrive at Building K on Nov. 4.
This move marks the latest progression in the project, which began with June’s site preparation, installation of scaffolding, and building improvements.
“We’re excited to see this important work continue on schedule,” says Project Manager Nicolle Bourget.
“And we really appreciate the cooperation and understanding from students and faculty, and staff as we make these important upgrades that will ultimately enhance the learning and physical environment.”
Faculty are reminded that students coming from their new classrooms in Building K may take a few minutes longer to arrive as they navigate new routes around campus.
Other departments will rotate into Building K as the project progresses through Building A East and on to Building D next year.
