The data and input from UFV’s first online forum using thoughtexchange has been collected and crunched: 648 people contributed 916 thoughts, and gave out an amazing 20,207 stars.
Over the last four weeks, the Visioning working group has been busy sorting through your feedback and input and several major themes that have surfaced. These themes have been summarized and can be explored on a dedicated UFV thoughtexchange dashboard.
The Top Thoughts section allows you browse the thoughts submitted for each question, in order of their rating by others. In the Top Themes section, you can see which major themes emerged for each question. If you click on each theme bar in the chart, you’ll be able to browse each comment in that theme.
The Visioning steering committee has also been active. Two representatives from each UFV major constituent group — students, faculty, staff, alumni and community partners — were appointed by President Joanne MacLean to the steering committee in late November. This group met and utilized the input gathered from the community to discuss UFV’s core values and contemplated potential mission statements. The steering committee will be finalizing their recommendations over the coming weeks.
And finally, we have completed plans for part two of this process — UFV’s vision. We’ll kick things off on Tues, Jan 8 with town hall meetings in Abbotsford and Chilliwack. President Joanne MacLean will give you a summary of our values and mission work, then talk about the consultation process for the development of our vision.
