UFV June 2020 convocations postponed

Convocation is one of the most important days of the academic year for students, for faculty, and for staff. Convocation is a milestone in a student’s educational journey and we want to make sure we honour and celebrate this achievement in ceremonial fashion.

From the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, UFV has followed the direction of the BC Provincial Health Officer and the requirements of our government to maintain social distance and flatten the curve.

This is why we must, unfortunately, postpone our June 2020 Convocation ceremonies.

UFV is actively working on plans for future ceremonies that will give students and their supporters the rich and real experience they have earned and deserve.

All students who are eligible and who have completed their requirements for graduation (including an application to graduate, see UFV graduation), will receive the appropriate credential from UFV via mail in the months ahead. If you have earned your credential, you will graduate and you will receive it – even if we cannot celebrate together on stage until it’s safe to do so.

UFV will share our new celebration plans, once finalized, on the UFV Convocation website and by email to all our students.

If you have questions please email convocation@ufv.ca.

Thank you for your patience, for your understanding, and for your willingness to adapt to the ever-changing challenges of the time in which we are living.

UFV is looking forward to celebrating with you, your supporters, and our campus community when we can do so without reservation and without risk to the health and safety of all involved.
