March 26 Updates

As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, our community’s reaction to it also changes. UFV is adapting and continuing to deliver education and services. We will get through this together.

Student Services:

UFV remains committed to supporting students through phone, virtual, and online services. Here is a complete list.

ITS hours:

Information Technology Services is available to assist you remotely during UFV’s COVID-19 response.

Here is a list of IT support services and resources.

The IT Service Desk hours are from 8am to 4pm Monday through Friday for remote help by phone and remote desktop control (4610 or 604-864-4610) and 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday through email and our ticketing system itservicedesk.ufv.ca or through our website.

If you require health information on COVID-19, including information on symptoms, self-monitoring, and self-isolation protocol, Health Canada has an excellent chart which details the specific actions required. The province of BC has created a phone service to provide non-medical information about COVID-19, including the latest information on travel recommendations and social distancing. Information is available in more than 110 languages, 7:30 am – 8 pm at 1-888-COVID19 (1-888-268-4319) or via text message at 1-888-268-4319.  BC CDC is also a definitive source of official health information.

  1. Is tuition fees going to remain the same in the summer? or reduce since we normally pay building fees, SUS fees etc. and we wont be using any of those in the summer since we are learning from home in a remote enviroment?

      Sorry I dozed off there for a weekend. No really. I had some catching up to do. So thanks for your patience. I asked this awesome question to a few people and at this point the fees (that are not tution) are under review and more information will be available prior to the start of the term.

    Other universities are letting students select a P for courses for this semester rather than finishing because of the impact of the Corona virus. Does UFV have plans to do this?

      I’ll get back to you on this question. Its a good one and I know UFV is looking at options. We understand the many stresses COVID-19 is creating and are looking at ways to help ease that pressure. Please stay tuned and I appreciate your patience.
