    • Hi Karan,
Thanks for the comment, UFV is open on Friday, Feb. 15. All classes and activities proceeding as usual. Use caution and allow extra time for the commute. The decision to travel is always yours and your safety should be your number one concern.
Also: it’s winter out there so we still have some snow on the ground even though our crews have cleared sidewalks, stairs, and parking lots so winter footwear and clothing are needed. Check UFV.ca for updates. Have a good Friday!

  1. Snow coming down hard with a new snowfall warning from The Weather Network. Wet snow this time with negative temps, will be worse to drive in this time.. would be ridiculous if campus is open Friday. Already have seen some cars get stuck at the bottom of hills out here.

  2. I’m in Langley and I have a midterm tomorrow. It’s expected to snow between 5-15cm overnight. I can’t afford snow tires and I drive a pretty old car. I don’t feel safe driving there at all. Please take this into consideration, I’m not sure my Prof will let me write my exam later…

  3. Lots of wet snow coming down, very slippery to drive in. Would be ridiculous if campus is open tomorrow as these driving conditions could be even more dangerous than before. Already there are cars stuck at the bottom of hills.

  4. hi, dave

the road conditions are fairly bad at the moment, it took me about 45 mins to get home, which is usually a 15min commute as I live fairly close to UFV. It is very unsafe and many cars were slipping due to the black ice. For safety reasons I thought I would mention it here as many are afraid to come forward about their struggles because no one is willing to hear us out.

  5. Hey, are we able to know sooner if there are classes tomorrow? I just drove home and the roads are slippery around the mission/abbotsford area. I will not be able to make it to classes tomorrow but that is unfair because other people might me able to and I don’t wanna lose marks in class. I am really stressed out so the sooner we know the better please!

  6. the roads are really slippery and the road conditions have gotten really bad. I will be unable to attend my exams. Lots of students are in my position and I think it would be wise to cancel school
