Prepare for cold temperatures at Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses on Fri, Nov 16, and Sat, Nov 17

A message from UFV Facilities

The temperature in all UFV buildings on the Abbosford (King Road) and Chilliwack (Canada Education Park) campuses will be much colder than normal on Fri, Nov 16 and Sat, Nov 17, as UFV complies with direction from FortisBC to reduce natural gas consumption.

You are advised to dress in warm layers so that you are prepared for colder temperatures in the morning and can adjust as our buildings naturally warm up through the daytime hours.

As Enbridge continues to repair its natural gas pipeline in northern BC, Fortis (the company that supplies natural gas to UFV), is advising us of a major shortfall of natural gas for heating tomorrow, November 16, 2018. This means UFV will be taking measures to reduce natural gas usage to a level of only what is absolutely necessary to maintain operations.
