Join us next week with UFV Unite as we align with the theme of this year’s Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Mental Health Week of Social Connection. Connecting with other people and our communities doesn’t just feel good. It’s good for our mental health.
A message from CMHA: These days, it’s hard to tell the weeks apart. Look forward to CMHA’s #MentalHealthWeek May 4-10. We need each other more than ever, so join us and #GetReal about how you feel. Visit www.mentalhealthweek.ca to learn more and download the tools! #TogetherApart
Throughout the week we hope you take time to connect with others as well as internally, while keeping in mind the importance of physical activity while finding balance, community engagement, social support and making healthy lifestyle choices. Remember, one type of person to connect with this week are mothers! This upcoming Sunday, May 10 we honor all the motherhood figures in our lives on Mother’s Day!
We will be providing ways to connect with your local community, a check-in on your movement goals with the help from ParticipAction, and understanding why self-care matters, including activity suggestions such as rock painting and giving a UFV Crossword a try.
In addition to the Human Resources learning and development workshops offered this week, join us on Tuesday, May 5 from 10-10:30am for a Bluejeans Coffee Break – #TogetherApart chat around self-care.
Pandemic Kitchen Update
At the beginning of the week will be announcing the first two Pandemic Kitchen cooking video winners! Make sure you get cooking and submit your video for a chance to have your recipe featured in the UFV’s Pandemic Cookbook, the theme this week is, “Because we were bored – Main dishes”.
All information about the competition is tagged under “Pandemic Kitchen” on Facebook. Remember, all proceeds of the cookbook sales will go to the UFV-SUS Foodbank. Not sure of what to make? Try out a Mexican inspired recipe on Cinco de Mayo!
Thanks for this great blog Stacie
