Join us in celebrating International Women’s Day with an inspiring event featuring Sahar Maqsoodi, an Afghan women’s rights activist, writer, and senior student of political science and governance.

Sahar Maqsoodi has a profound background in advocacy and leadership. She serves as the communications manager and NexusTalk host for HerStory Afghanistan and is a youth leader and board member for Pathways to Leadership with the Racialized, Immigrant, and Refugee Women’s Society. With experience collaborating with organizations such as the British Columbia Council for International Cooperation and Girls Toward Leadership, Sahar has made significant strides in empowering women. Her dedication to storytelling as a medium for change earned her the Girl Up Storytelling Award, recognizing her work in amplifying women’s voices.

This event is an opportunity to hear Sahar’s inspiring journey and insights on women’s rights, leadership, and global advocacy.
