The holiday season is upon us, and many of you might receive new device. Whether it’s a new smartphone, tablet, or laptop, it’s essential to make sure your MFA methods are up to date, and to secure your new device so it’s ready to use.
Step 1: Ensure your MFA methods are up to date
- Go to https://aka.ms/mfasetup and sign in with your UFV account.
- Add your new device as an MFA method. Be sure to remove the old device, too!
- Tip: if you’re using the Microsoft Authenticator app, we recommend enabling cloud backup for a seamless transition to a new device, or for easy recovery in case your device is lost or damaged.
-
- Locked out? If you’re a student, and you lost access to your old devices, you can use the self-service MFA reset portal. If you’re an employee, contact the IT Service Desk for assistance.
Step 2: New device checklist
