What do I need to know?
Campus Planning & Facilities Management (CPFM) have scheduled a necessary power outage and corresponding data center shut down to complete final upgrades to electrical systems required for the Dining Hall kitchen renovation. These outages are scheduled for Saturday, November 30, 2024, and will significantly impact IT systems.
What do I need to do?
For all those working on the Abbotsford Campus in Building B, please Turn Off Workstations and all Non-Critical Electrical Equipment before leaving end of day on Friday November 29th or Saturday November 30th, to prevent potential hardware damage.
When will this occur?
Saturday, November 30th, 2024, from 6:30pm until Sunday, December 1st, 2024, at 5:30am.
Who is impacted?
All UFV employees and students.
Services Impacted:
The following services will be unavailable across all campuses; this is not an exhaustive list and additional UFV applications may be impacted:
• Abbotsford Campus Wi-Fi, telephone and network services
• ufv.ca website
• Remote connection to campus computers and student lab computers
• Telephone services (excluding red emergency phones)
• myufv.ca portal, including student registration
• Banner, Banner self-serve, FAST
• myGradPlan
• E2E Appointment Manager
• Room Bookings and DCU
• MyWeb/Terminal4
• myFiles (Fileaway)
• Live Alumni
• Papercut (Ricoh)
Will student/employee email & myClass services be available?
Yes, email and myClass services will remain accessible, provided you are not dependent on campus internet connections during the scheduled outage periods.
