On April 1, 2025, members of the UFV community, along with friends and colleagues from around the Fraser Valley, gathered to celebrate inclusion, community, and togetherness with an evening of music, food, and camaraderie at the university’s first Tail-GAY-te party.
The event was co-organized by CHASI and Sustainable UFV, with support from UFV’s Faculty and Staff Association, UFV’s Inclusive Community Fund, and many friends and allies from across the university. UFV Alumna Emma Hones provided great music and lively emceeing, as she has for many previous CHASI and UFV events.
Inspired by tailgate parties, our community joined together to share food, conversation, and music in a supportive and loving community, and to stand in solidarity during an uncertain and isolating time in the world. By bringing people together with positivity and love, we wanted to remind everyone that they are not alone and that they are appreciated, supported, and welcome.
On behalf of all of the organizers, we would like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who joined us in making the event such a success!
