Fraser Valley Writers Festival returns for 2026

The Fraser Valley Writers Festival will host 10 Canadian authors for a celebration of Canadian literature on November 5, 6, and 7.
This marks the festival’s 19th year of bringing authors and book lovers together for an array of free events.

On Friday, November 6, the festival will welcome two acclaimed keynote speakers. The Honourable Jody Wilson-Raybould, former Minister of Justice and Attorney General, and the author of The Inbetween Leader: Cultivating Courage and Unity in a Complex World (Greystone Books) will be joined by Justin McElroy, award-winning journalist, CBC municipal affairs reporter, and author of Searching for the Best Place on Earth: 52 Countries in 52 Weeks (Harbour Publishing).
On Saturday, November 7, attendees will enjoy panels, workshops, and live podcast recordings from a lineup of accomplished authors including Governor General’s Award nominee Elizabeth Bachinsky, author of Real Grownup (Nightwood Editions), and Dr. Keiko Honda, recipient of the City of Vancouver’s 2014 Remarkable Women award and author of Words That Last (Caitlin Press). Joining them will be New Westminster author Jónína Kirton and Vancouver authors Dina Del Bucchia, Daniel Zomparelli, Kevin Spenst, Renée Sarojini Saklikar, and Adrick Brock. In addition to these events, all are invited to a community open mic reading on the afternoon of Thursday, November 5.

The festival is free of charge, however due to limited availability, attendees are asked to register for event activities via Eventbrite. Keynotes and panels will take place in Building B, Room 101 of UFV’s Abbotsford campus. For tickets or more information, please visit https://www.fvwritersfestival.com.
