More than 100 employees who have been at UFV for a decade or more  were recognized and celebrated on May 20 at the Service Recognition Dinner at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Centre. In addition, six recently retired faculty members received the professor emeritus designation. President Joanne MacLean congratulated the long-service award recipients and said that this annual celebration is one of her favourite events to attend.

“I’ve been sitting back with a front-row seat, soaking up the amazing contributions of our UFV employees: 10 and 15 years — that is wonderful, long service,” Joanne said. “But 20, 25, and 30 years! I can feel the connection that you share, the care with which you engage in your work, and I want you to know how much it matters to accomplishing our mission: to engaging learners, to transforming lives, to building communities!  

“Each of you — and our most distinguished professors, those who were awarded the professor emeritus designation tonight, have made UFV into the institution it is today: a thriving place of learning, a work environment where people matter, a place of access to education for everyone across the Fraser Valley and beyond. A place of excellence, a place of knowledge creation, a place of inclusion. A House of Transformation! I thank you for your dedication to our university, to each other, and to our students.”  

Congratulations to all and thank you for decades of dedication and service.
