Tracy Germaine joins UFV as Director of Financial Services

The University of the Fraser Valley welcomes Tracy Germaine as its new Director of Financial Services.

With over 20 years of experience, Tracy brings a wealth of expertise from both the public and private sectors. She has excelled in complex, unionized, multi-stakeholder organizations, including the District of West Vancouver, the City of North Vancouver, and the Provincial Health Services Authority. Most recently, she worked in a post-secondary environment — driving service improvements, cultivating productive relationships, and ensuring clear, impactful communication.

Tracy’s record of developing high-performing teams and leading strategic finance initiatives will be a tremendous asset to UFV. Skilled at engaging with boards, senior leaders, and the wider organizational community, she is passionate about creating value and fostering continuous improvement.

“In my first month at UFV, I’ve been thoroughly impressed by the strong sense of community and welcoming culture,” she says. “It’s incredible to see how many people have been here for years, and even decades, which is a true testament to the commitment and passion that thrives within this organization. I’m also immensely impressed by how smoothly the finance department operates, and I feel fortunate to be part of such a high-performing team.”

Outside of work, Tracy dives into her fitness routine, explores the outdoors with her family and two playful dogs, unwinds with a good book, and gives extra attention to her leopard gecko, the most mellow ‘gym buddy’ you’ll ever meet.

Tracy began her new role on Nov 25, replacing Nicole Adams, who assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer in April.
