Dr. Amir Shabani talks AI at Exploring Equity Speaker Series

UFV’s Dr. Amir Shabani takes the stage at the Exploring Equity Speaker Series, talking about AI on Tuesday, June 4 at 6:30 pm on the Abbotsford campus.

Working in UFV’s Community Health and Social Innovation (CHASI) Hub, Shabani and his team are developing social companion robots and assistive technology for Alzheimer’s patients. In a presentation titled EDI in AI Research for Health Care Applications, Shabani will discuss how equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) principles inform his research at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and its health applications.

The list of previous presenters in the Exploring Equity Speaker Series includes Dr. Keith Carlson, Dr. Darryl Plecas, and Dr. Carin Bondar.

Shabani’s presentation takes place in room B132. Entry is by donation in support of the UFV-Student Union Society Food Bank. There will be refreshments, and all are welcome.
