Student Wellness hosting Pink Shirt Day activities February 28

Student Wellness invites the UFV community to participate in Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday, February 28.

In effort to spread kindness, create inclusion and honour diversity, Student Wellness invites the UFV community to participate in Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday, February 28.

“Participating in Pink Shirt Day is more than just wearing a colour – it’s showing appreciation, kindness and acceptance of each other,” says Sanjit Bhalru, manager of Student Wellness. “By wearing pink, we contribute to a community where everyone’s wellness journey is valued and celebrated.”

Participating can be as easy as wearing something pink you already own – a piece of clothing, an accessory, or even using a pink background for virtual learning environments.

On Feb 28, Student Wellness will be in the Student Lounge (S1111) 11 am – 2 pm with friendship bracelets, conversations, snacks and more.

The team is also gathering songs shared on social media posts to create a playlist for future UFV Student Wellness events. To spread the word, take a photo of yourself in pink or of something pink and share it on social media with your go-to uplifting, happy, or charge-up song.

Don’t forget to tag @ufvstudentwellness and use the hashtags #pinkshirtday2024 #liftothersup #youmatter #thisismyufvstrongsong

There will also be a group photo at 2 pm in the Student Union atrium.
