New ILOs presented Thurs, Nov 30

UFV’s revised Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs) will be presented on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023 and will come into effect on July 1, 2024.

Starting July 1, 2024, UFV students will graduate as better leaders, communicators, and advocates thanks to a new set of Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs) developed by Dr. Awneet Sivia, AVP Teaching and Learning — who will present the new work Thursday, Nov 30 at 12 noon via Teams. All employees are encouraged to join this event — the latest offering developed through UFV’s Provost Lunch and Learn initiative.

First developed a decade ago, UFV’s ILOs outline the skills, competencies, and proficiencies UFV students possess by graduation. Following collaborative consultation, the updated outcomes align with UFV’s strategic goals and support our mission of engaging learners, transforming lives, and building community.

“Our updated Institutional Learning Outcomes signify UFV’s dedication to providing a holistic and enriching educational experience. These outcomes encapsulate our commitment to preparing students not only academically, but also as responsible global citizens equipped to navigate an ever-changing world,” Awneet explained.

The revised ILOs encompass eight domains connected by four core themes including: Know, Connect, Transform, and Reflect.
