UFV partners in #TogetherVsVirus online hackathon April 17-19

Inspired by the #WirVsVirus Hackathon in Germany (15,000 participants) and #VersusVirus in Switzerland (4,610 participants) several Canadian organizations are bringing Canada together to develop fresh ideas and solutions in dealing with and against the coronavirus.

#TogetherVsVirus is a Canadian online hackathon on April 17-19, 2020, which aims to use the collective intelligence of researchers, experts, technology specialists and fellow citizens to develop fresh ideas and solutions for dealing with and combating the coronavirus.

During 48 hours, people from all over Canada with a variety of backgrounds will collaborate to find solutions for the challenges that we are facing right now or will be facing the future in the following areas:

  • Protection of at risk groups
  • Prevention of proliferation
  • Data against Fake News
  • Economic impact
  • Quarantine & mental health
  • Hospital & Care
  • Family & Children
  • Training
  • Remote & Team Work
  • After the crisis
  • Support & Solidarity
  • Art & Culture
  • Crime Reduction, etc.

For this nation-wide Hackathon, held in English and French, organizers are actively looking for:

  • mentors for projects
  • participants to answer challenges
  • suggestions for challenges
  • organisational and financial support

People interested can register directly on our website: http://togethervsvirus.ca
