Campus Rec day camps combine fun, health, and fitness

Looking for some fun healthy activities to keep the kids occupied this summer?

The UFV Athletics and Campus Rec departments are hosting summer camps on both the Abbotsford and Chilliwack campus this year for ages 6-18 from July 3-August 30, 2018.

Our day camp programs use the power of experiential learning to enhance the personal growth and development of each participant. It is our mission to ignite your child’s passion for physical activity for life!

Program curriculum is focused on creating a safe and encouraging environment geared towards promoting self-esteem, positive social interaction, co-operation and leadership development. Our camps are led by two UFV Kinesiology students trained in physical literacy, along with support from  Cascades varsity athletes, and coaches.

New this year: XPLORE UFV camp at the Chilliwack campus at Canada Education Park.

In XPLORE UFV kids will get to use the Human performance lab – learning about heart rates and  the benefits of exercise. They’ll pick kale in the Agriculture greenhouse, and make smoothies with them in the Culinary kitchen at the Trades and Technology Centre. They’ll also do crafts using other trades and tech tools.

“I hope that participation in these camps will help ignite the children’s passion for exercise and healthy living that will last a lifetime,” says Cheryl Van Nes.
