New UFV.ca home page launched

The UFV Web team in University Relations has launched a new look for the UFV.ca home page.

As the front door of our web presence, this very visible page is a significant milestone in a much bigger project through which 96 out of 175 UFV sites have been redesigned and published. The last major overhaul of the UFV home page occurred in 2008.

The new viewer-friendly design takes into account feedback received through search analytics, a university-wide web survey, and student focus groups. The design helps visitors connect quickly with content they’re seeking and is mobile responsive so it displays well on smart phones.

To find your favourite links and resources simply visit the home page and take a look around, or download a quick reference map of the home page for future reference. You can provide feedback, see FAQs, and look at the rationale behind the redesign on the myWeb page.

Benefits:

  • Mobile-responsive design: 38% of users view the UFV site on their phone. This number will increase over time.
  • Quick access to program information: drop down menu provides efficient connection to information on UFV programs efficiently.
  • Streamlined experience for site visitors: links are now organized on four audience portals and a link footer, providing simple navigation and a less cluttered interface.

The Web team in University Relations looks forward to continuing to update the remaining UFV sites and welcome your feedback.
