UFV to host Brexit forum Oct 3
Will the European Union fall apart because of Brexit? Can the UK survive without the EU? What will the impact on Canada be?
The United Kingdom (UK) is preparing to leave the European Union after the Brexit vote on June 23, 2016. What are the key factors that contributed to the turn of events in Western Europe?
Join UFV faculty members and students from different disciplines for an afternoon of intensive discussions of the future of the UK, EU, and the world at large.
The forum will take place on Monday, Oct 3 from 2:30-4:30 pm in the lecture theatre (B101) on the UFV Abbotsford campus. Admission is free and the public is welcome.
The event will be chaired by professor Fiona MacDonald (Political Science), and feature professors Edward Akuffo (Political Science), Ron Dart (Political Science), Chris Leach (History), Nicola Mooney and Stephen Piper (both Social, Cultural, and Media Studies), as well as Chelsey Laird (UFV International), and international UFV students from the UK.
