Women’s volleyball team plays in national final Saturday at 7 pm

Lloydminster, Alberta….The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades women’s volleyball team defeated the Élans de Garneau (RSEQ) 3-1, to advance to the CCAA Championship Game for the first time in the program’s history.  UFV started playing intercollegiate volleyball in 2004. The set scores in today’s semi-final were 19-25, 25-13, 25-17 and 25-22.  UFV will face the host Lakeland College Rustlers (ACAC silver medalists) in the CCAA’s championship match set for 7pm PST.  The Rustlers defeated CEGEP Edouard-Montpetit (Montreal, Quebec) 3-0, by set scores of 28-26, 25-1`6 and 26-24.

Kayla Bruce, a fifth-year middle from Surrey, BC was named the Cascades “Player of the Match.”
