“Being a relatively new resident of Abbotsford I’ve been really impressed with the programs and growth at the University of the Fraser Valley. Many friends have mentioned what a wonderful, supportive organization UFV is and I was very interested in being in the university environment and hopefully securing significant financial support for our institution.”
As for what she thinks of UFV so far?
“I love it so far! Of course, I started when all of the Christmas parties are happening, which is a wonderful way to get to know people. Everyone has been very welcoming and I’m learning something new about our programs and community impact every day.”
Karina lives in Abbotsford with her husband Gord and children Emma (8) and Ethan (4) (“they are always bringing something new into my life”). She grew up in Richmond and has also lived on Vancouver Island for eight years including Duncan, Victoria, and Ladysmith.
“I’m passionate about volunteerism and currently the President of Volunteer Abbotsford. I love to read and I really love Starbucks — so I’m always up for a coffee!”
Executive director of University Advancement Madeleine Hardin welcomes Karina to the UFV community and the advancement team.
“I am very pleased to have Karina join our University Advancement team. She brings expertise, local community knowledge, and a keen sense of humour to our university.”
