After two years in leadership roles with the Faculty of Science, Ora Steyn has accepted a one-year interim appointment as executive director of UFV International, beginning May 10, 2012.

A search for a new dean for the Faculty of Science is underway. In the interim, Ian McAskill, advisor to the provost, Integrated Planning, has agreed to assume the position of acting dean.

“I want to thank Ora for the incredible service she has performed for the Faculty of Science and UFV these past two years,” says Dr. Eric Davis, provost and vice-president, Academic. “I would also like to express my gratitude to Ian for yet again agreeing, at a moment’s notice, to step into the breach and temporarily apply his extensive experience and skills to another senior administrative position.  I am absolutely confident that both UFV International and the Faculty of Science will be in good hands.”

Ora and Ian will work closely together during the transition, with Ora performing the dean’s duties at convocation in June.
