Everest at Whistler

Mount Everest is, almost, 30,000 feet high. Peak to Creek at Whistler (the longest blue run in North America) descends more than 5,000 feet in 7 kilometers. This means that those who ski Peak to Creek will have descended the equivalent of 30, 120 feet over 42 kilometers.  UFV faculty member Ron Dart, Jonathan Mitchell (a British mountaineer and exchange student at UFV), and John Labramboise did the Everest at Whistler descent on Thursday March 8. Ron will be leading a longer descent in April—those interested In more information, contact Ron Dart at ron.dart@ufv.ca .
