Brian Leonard joins UFV as Manager, Emergency Planning

Brian Leonard has joined UFV as Manager, Emergency Planning.  Brian comes to UFV from the City of Vancouver where he held the position of Emergency Planning Coordinator.

Brian has a strong background in emergency management bringing practical knowledge and experience to the role. During his time with the City of Vancouver, Brian was involved in developing public safety plans for large special events such as the Grey Cup Festivities, Celebration of Light, and 2010 Winter Olympics.  He was project lead for contingency and evacuation planning for the 2010 Games. Needless to say, he has excellent project management skills, and is great at putting emergency management in a context that end-users can relate to.

Brian holds certifications in emergency management, occupational health and safety and business continuity management.

Brian will have responsibility for coordinating UFV’s emergency response and business continuity plans.  He can be found in office B150a and can be reached at local 4588 or email brian.leonard@ufv.ca
