Fraser Valley tour brings diverse group of educators to UFV campus

NAFSA TourOn May 30, 2011, 44 guests from 20 countries participated in a Fraser Valley tour organized by UFV International as part of the NAFSA conference for international educators held in Vancouver from May 29 to June 3, 2011.

“This was a milestone event,” says John Potts, associate director of UFV International. “It was the first time in our history that we hosted such an outstanding group of partners and associates from all over the world.”

Upon arrival, guests were greeted by UFV president, Dr. Mark Evered, and had the opportunity to tour the Abbotsford campus to see firsthand the type of experiences international students have when they come to study at UFV. After the tour, guests journeyed on to Minter Gardens for a networking lunch and stroll through the grounds.

“The tour gave us the opportunity to cement ties with current partners and explore new avenues for collaboration with European and Asian universities,” says Potts. “We hope this visit can open even more doors for our students and faculty to teach or study abroad.”
