UFV’s own Aaron Pauls and Chris Bertram were participating as athlete and coach in the World University Golf Championships last week in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, and played an essential part in Team Canada’s success throughout the tournament. Both were chosen for the team in February, Pauls as one of six varsity men from across the nation, and Bertram as one of four coaches.
Pauls played four rounds of golf during the championship on the par 72 Golf Course Crans-sur-Sierre in the Swiss Alps, going 76, 73, 67, 76 to finish with a +4 overall. His finish in a five-way tie for 17th helped Team Canada to a fifth-place collective finish, and his third-round total (67) was the third-best round posted by any golfer at the tournament.
Bertram helped coach the women’s team to an 11th place finish with a collective score of 30.
