In Common Speakers’ Series: Sacred Life, Human Choice: Faith Perspectives on Medically Assisted Dying — Feb 12

Hosted by the Peace and Reconciliation Centre (PARC), the In Common Speakers’ Series creates space for open, respectful dialogue across diverse religious, spiritual, and philosophical traditions. Each event brings together two guest speakers for a moderated conversation exploring a shared theme through different faith perspectives.

This February, Sacred Life, Human Choice: Faith Perspectives on Medically Assisted Dying invites participants into a thoughtful and compassionate conversation about Medically Assisted Dying (MAiD). Through the lens of two distinct faith traditions, the dialogue will explore how questions of dignity, suffering, autonomy, care, and responsibility are understood when life is held as sacred and choice carries profound moral weight.

Rather than debate, this conversation centres listening, reflection, and ethical curiosity, acknowledging the complexity of MAiD and the deeply personal, cultural, and spiritual dimensions that shape how individuals and communities engage with it.

Open to the entire UFV community and free of charge, In Common welcomes all who wish to listen, learn, and engage with curiosity.
