UFV School of Continuing Education holds Professional Development Day

On September 13, the School of Continuing Education held its annual Professional Development Day for CE instructors. This day provided an opportunity for all Continuing Education instructors and staff to reconnect, reflect on our collective work, and develop new skills to ensure CE students are successful and thrive as graduates.

As many of our instructors work remotely and on varied schedules, this day plays a vital role in fostering collaboration and connection among colleagues across programs and within our department.
This year’s focus was on utilizing Brightspace, AI, inspiring workforce readiness, and building communities of practice. These topics are increasingly important in today’s evolving workplace for both instructors and students. By strengthening these skills, our instructors continue to refine their pedagogic practices and create an even more effective learning environment for our students.

We were joined by inspiring speakers Candace Stewart-Smith, Belinda Jin, and Dr. Sameena Karim Jamal. We enjoyed delicious catering from local Clearbrook favorite Café Time, which provided food and refreshments during moments of connection.

We are proud to host this annual event, which supports our instructors’ professional growth, expresses our appreciation for their dedication, and fosters meaningful relationships within our Continuing Education community.
