EL Lab Renovation, School of Health Studies, CEP A2106

A renovation project will be starting on Wed, June 25, 2025 in CEP A2106 on the Chilliwack campus (formerly known as the Black Box theatre). This renovation will create an Experiential Learning lab for the School of Health Studies. Measures will be taken to curb renovation noise as much as possible; however, building occupants may experience construction noise from time to time.
The renovation will occur from June to December 2025. Work will be focused in A2106 and adjacent rooms A2106a, b, c, d, e, and f (see map below) in A Building, Chillwack campus at Canada Education Park. As well, contractors will access upper floor atrium (AH2100) and rooms main floor rooms A1101, A1103d, A1104 for related infrastructure tie-ins. Access will be arranged and communicated ahead of time.
How will this impact me?
Occupants on the west side of A building on the Chilliwack campus will hear construction noise from time to time. Contractors will be accessing A2106 on a regular basis during the renovation. A section of A H2100 upper atrium space will be hoarded off for construction materials. Contractors will be working in various rooms to access related building infrastructure. Access to the Biology lab (CEPA 2111) and the Agriculture/Geography lab (CEPA 2105) will remain clear and unobstructed throughout the renovation. Scheduled service interruptions will be coordinated and communicated in advance by the project representative.
What do I need to do?
Respect contractor safety signage, cordoned off areas and partitions around the work zone. Keep alert of construction activity especially when approaching the A H2100 atrium area. Contact UFV Security should you have any safety concerns. The construction area proper will be closed to public access.
