Vicki Grieve, a longtime faculty member in the Upgrading department at UFV until her retirement in 2018, passed away on January 23, 2025.
In addition to her teaching duties, Vicki served one term as president of the UFV Faculty and Staff Association.
Vicki started her career with what was then Fraser Valley College in 1986, teaching adult basic education courses to prisoners as part of a contract that the college had with the local prison system.
When that contract ended, she and other instructors switched to teaching on campus.
Throughout her career, Vicki had a strong interest in family literacy and headed up several special projects focused on creating connections and opportunities for community literacy projects.
She also served as department head for what is now Upgrading and University Preparation, but what was then known as Career and College Preparation.
She leaves two beloved daughters, Gabby (Mark) and Lena (Andy), and granddaughters Alice and Holly.
