UFV Theatre presents Alissa Watson’s stage adaptation of The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch.
The first production of UFV Theatre’s 2024-25 season, directed by Randi Edmundson, will be performed from Nov 29 – Dec 7.
Presented by the UFV School of Creative Arts acting and production classes, The Paper Bag Princess is a fun and silly adventure about a princess that saves a prince from the smartest and fiercest dragon in the whole world. This play presents lessons in being true and confident in your self, and introductions to feminism by challenging gender roles and expectations.
The student cast features Ensey Smith, Sukhsagar Singh, Alex Simpson, Amritpal Singh, Noah Hughlett, Mae Labiste, Jessica Blanchard, and Mehakdeep Singh.
The student design team includes Bren McPhee (costume designer), Avrey Jantz Krahn (hair and make-up designer), Abigail Hansen (props master), Ashleigh Henczel (head of puppets), and Makenna Russel (sound designer). They are supported by production crew members Marie Brideau (stage manager), Samerpreet Singh (ASM), Eden Verster (assistant costume/hair and make-up designer), Kyle Pagulayan (sound assistant/board operator), and Jackson Peters (lighting assistant/board operator).
Students are mentored by UFV production class instructor and technical coordinator Jared Raschke, wardrobe manager Heather Robertson, and production manager Giuseppe Condello.
