UFV’s Esposito Family Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (EFCIE) and the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce’s Company of Young Professionals (CYPE) co-host an event taking place Monday, Oct 21, from 4 to 6 pm in Building K on the Abbotsford campus.
In recognition of National Mentoring Day (Oct 27), Meet the Mentors is for students and young professionals, helping them build skills and develop new professional connections that lead towards valuable mentor relationships.
Meet the Mentors brings together the local UFV/CYPE community to recognize the accomplishments of our local leaders and alumni. It serves as an opportunity for networking, mentorship and inspiration, building awareness of CYPE across a community of young professionals while growing the relationship with EFCIE.
The event is co-hosted by CYPE Chair and UFV alum Sam Varing and UFV’s Dr. Jon Thomas, and features a keynote address by Matt Rothery.
Matt is a self made real estate investor; the VP of Investor Relations at Raising Wealth Properties; and a fleet manager of Abbotsford Chrysler. With over eight years of door to door experience, eight years of automotive sales, and six of real estate investing, he has mastered the art of first impressions and communication, and has worked his way into partnerships that allowed him to raise millions for charities; train over a hundred of sales professionals; and make his first 52 unit apartment Joint Venture, all by 30 years old.
Matt’s presentation will focus on how to have a great first impression and build rapport, and how to have a meaningful interaction with a potential mentor to establish a relationship.
This event is free for CYPE members and UFV students, and $15 for non-members/non-students.
