What do I need to know?
Electricity will be shut down to Abbotsford Buildings A, B, C, H (Lá:lem te Baker), G (Library), and F between 9am and 4pm Sunday, September 15. All buildings will be closed during the outage — aside from Lá:lem te Baker.
What do I need to do?
Please ensure electronic devices are properly powered down before the weekend and you have what you need from affected buildings.
IT Services Impacted:
- Wired and wireless network connections
- Telephone service (excluding red emergency phones)
- Remote desktop connections
- Facilities systems/panels
- Power outage will affect desktops, TVs, projectors, phones, wireless/wired network in the impacted buildings.
Are services hosted by the data center impacted?
No, generators will be running.
Will student/employee email & myClass services be available?
Yes, provided a campus internet connection isn’t required to access during scheduled outages.
Why will there be an outage?
BC Hydro is replacing power poles.
What about Security?
UFV Safety and Security will continue to be available 24 hours a day at 1-855-239-7654.
