This event is co-hosted by the UFV’s Peace and Reconciliation Centre (Prof. Keith Carlson) and Utrecht University’s Conflict Studies and Human Rights Programme (Dr. Mario Fumerton)
A balanced, respectful, and impartial dialogue presents a contextualized, evidence-based analysis of the historical, political, and legal dimensions of the current Israel-Hamas conflict.
The conversation features diverse scholars from Canada and the Netherlands:

• Peter Malcontent (Utrecht)
• Edward Akuffo (UFV)
The symposium highlights the ways these events are being interpreted by scholars, as well as the pedagogical strategies faculty use to teach the conflict. Speakers will additionally offer potential pathways for ending the violence.
