The UFV Peace and Reconciliation Centre (PARC), which was formalized by the senate in April 2020, will have an official virtual (Zoom meeting) launch on September 24 from 12 to 2 pm.
PARC Chair Keith Carlson will host two guest speakers. The keynote address will be given by the Hon. Bob Rae who is Canada’s Ambassador to the United Nations.
The second guest speaker is the Grand Chief Hon. Steven Point, Chancellor of UBC and former BC Lieutenant Governor. Point is the first Indigenous person to hold the role of Chancellor at UBC.
At the launch PARC will announce funding and scholarship opportunities for students and faculty. One of the scholarships is in the amount of $10,000.
