Kerry is a UFV student in the Métis Community Support Worker program, on her way to starting a new career. While attending UFV Kerry has realized how fortunate we are to be attending university in such beautiful surroundings, with a deep connection to the Stō:lō Nation. She wants to share her experience with others.
“This is the first time I have attended university. One of the many challenges for me since starting school is the transition from being on my feet all day, to sitting in class. I found myself taking walks along the river during breaks to unwind, and soon had classmates joining me too.”
The goal of promoting wellness walks is to encourage the UFV community to focus on their physical and mental well-being in a non-judgmental and easy-going environment. Come join us and get some fresh air. Make new friends or bring a classmate and reconnect with the outdoors as we enjoy the natural surroundings of our campus.
Wellness walks are a voluntary activity and individuals are expected to recognize and accept the inherent risks of using the public walking paths along the Vedder River and within the community near the UFV Chilliwack campus.
