Students from UFV’s Kinesiology and Education programs have completed another Champions for Health Promoting Schools program in Antigua, West Indies, under the guidance of kinesiology professor Joanna Sheppard.
This is the ninth year that kinesiology professor Joanna Sheppard has led UFV students volunteering on the island (and the 12th year of the program).
UFV students participate in a four-week life skills teaching internship in a total of eight schools. Working side by side with local educators, the students are promoting physical and health education in innovative and effective ways to enrich the quality of teaching and learning in classrooms as well as in the field.
