Naloxone can temporarily reverse an overdose. Free nasal and injectable kits are available across B.C., including free Take Home Naloxone (THN) kits for personal use at UFV, provided by the BC Centre for Disease Control. Worried about calling 9-1-1? The Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act protects people who call for help about a suspected overdose.
Signs of an overdose can include:
– Slow, shallow, or no breathing
– Choking sounds
– Unresponsive or not moving
– Tiny pupils
– Blue or grey lips-
– Cold, clammy skin
If someone is experiencing an overdose, there’s no time to wait. Take action:
– Call 9-1-1
– Give naloxone
