Seasonal closure — important timesheet completion and due date changes

UFV will close for the annual seasonal closure at noon on Wed, Dec 24, and remain closed until Friday Jan 2, 2026. The final pay of the year — Dec 31 — will be paid on Wed, Dec 24. All employees who are paid by time sheet are encouraged to estimate the number of hours up to Dec 23 and submit their authorized timesheets to the payroll office by 3 pm on Wed, Dec 17. Submission deadline for Web Time Entry is 11:59 pm on Wed, Dec 17. Any adjustments to your estimated hours should be indicated on your first timesheet in January.

Please submit all coded and approved cheque requests and invoices by Wed, Dec 10. The final cheque run of 2025 will be on Thurs, Dec 18 and the first cheque run of 2025 will be Thurs, Jan 7.

All time sheets received after Dec 17 will be processed and paid on Jan 15.

Timesheets are due in payroll by 3 pm on Thurs, Jan 8 for payment on Jan 15.

Each pay period, please remember to access the fillable timesheet form available on our web page.

2026 TD1 Personal Income Tax Forms coming soon

If you had claimed any amounts other than the “Basic Personal Amount” on your 2025 TD1 or TD1BC forms, you will need to submit updated forms for 2026. The Canada Revenue Agency issues the new forms in December of each year and should be issuing them soon. We will provide a link to the forms on our website (www.ufv.ca/finance/payroll/tax-information/) as soon as they are available.

2026 Canada Pension Plan and Employment Insurance rates

Canada Pension Plan (Basic CPP)

For 2026, the maximum pensionable earnings are $74,600 and the basic exemption for the year is $3,500. The contribution rate for employees is 5.95%. The maximum an employee can contribute for the year is $4,230.45.

Canada Pension Plan (Additional C2A)

For 2026, the maximum pensionable earnings are $85,000. The contribution rate for employees is 4.0%. The maximum an employee can contribute is $416.

Employment Insurance (EI)

For 2026, the maximum annual insurable earnings are $68,900 and the EI premium rate is 1.63%, for a maximum annual premium of $1,123.07.

Please note: Effective January 1, 2026, CPP and EI will begin to be deducted from your pay again if you had reached the yearly maximum for 2025.
