Join Global Development Studies 260 on Friday, March 7 from 9:30 to 11:20 am in room D139 on the Abbotsford campus to watch the short documentary Ayenda, and hear from the Afghan speaker and activist Sahar Masqoodi.
Sahar is an Afghan women’s rights activist, writer, and senior student of political science and governance. She is the communications manager and NexusTalk host for HerStory Afghanistan and a youth leader and board member for Pathways to Leadership with the Racialized, Immigrant, and Refugee Women’s Society.
With a rich background in advocacy, Sahar has worked with organizations such as the British Columbia Council for International Cooperation and Girls Toward Leadership. She is also the recipient of the Girl Up Storytelling Award, highlighting her commitment to using narrative as a tool for empowerment and change.
