On Dec 3, the UFV community joined the global Giving Tuesday movement to boost the Student Support and Resilience Fund. Thanks to your collective efforts and generosity, a total of $4,860 was raised, directly supporting students facing urgent challenges such as food insecurity, housing instability, and other crises. UFV also received a Giving Tuesday donation of $10,000 for the UFV-SUS Food Bank and additional gifts supporting student awards, totaling $17,660.
UFV administrators, faculty, and staff contributed 85 per cent of the gifts received on Giving Tuesday. Your contributions — whether through a donation or the dedication you show in your work — help ensure that no student faces these challenges alone. Together, we are empowering students to overcome obstacles and to thrive in their educational journeys.
As Mallory Manley, Manager of UFV’s Student Support Centre, shared:
“Your generosity shows students they are not alone—there is a community behind them, ready to help them succeed even in their most challenging moments.”
Thank you for strengthening the UFV community
To all UFV employees, thank you for the many ways you show your commitment to students—through your generosity, your work, and your ongoing support. Whether or not you were able to give on Giving Tuesday, your contributions to student success are invaluable and deeply appreciated.
If you’d like to continue making an impact, you can still set up a recurring donation through payroll deductions. Visit the Employee Giving webpage to learn more.
Together, we are building a supportive community that empowers students to reach their full potential. Thank you for being an essential part of this meaningful effort.
