The Power of Words: The Importance of Strategic Communication in the Middle East — Oct 23

This lecture on Oct 23 from 4 – 6 pm (room A225 on the Abbotsford campus) will shed light on Canadian Armed Forces participation in the Combined Maritime Force 150. This is the largest maritime security partnership comprised of 46 nations that operate in Middle Eastern waters. Learn from Lieutenant-Commander Diane Larose about strategic communications between nations for several significant drug interdictions, support for training missions with partner nations, and strategic leader engagements.

Lieutenant-Commander Diane Larose joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 2000 and attended the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. After her degree, she completed her Naval Warfare Officer training. In 2008, she transferred to the Public Affairs Branch and completed her Basic Public Affairs Officer Course in 2009. Along with her position as Chief Public Affairs Officer, Diane was also appointed as the Acting Director for Strategic Communications. She deployed in January of 2024 as the Public Affairs Officer for Combined Task Force 150.
